Registration Fees
The annual registration fee of $40 for school-age students includes the cost of registration, the assignment notebook, recital fees, NFMC Festival fees, Music Fest fees, and a year’s subscription to Piano Explorer. Fees for books and other special events are charged separately.
For new students, the registration fee will be charged at the time of registration along with the first month’s tuition payment. (New students may join any time.) For returning students, the registration fee will be charged in September, along with the September tuition.
Tuition
Enrollment is for the school year* and includes 28 weekly lessons plus the two recitals, community performances, chapel performances, NFMC Festival, and the PCS Music & Arts Fest. The tuition is calculated for the entire year and divided into nine equal monthly payments.
* Should extenuating circumstances arise, a one-month (30-day) notice from the 1st of the month is required. The written notice must be faxed (232-0709) or mailed to the PCS Office at 430 Beckenham Lane, Greenville, SC, 29609. All automatic payments will stop after the 30-day notice period.
NEW for 2008-09!! EZ Auto-Pay by month
No more late fees and no more remembering to send in a check! Our convenient new payment method, EZ Auto-Pay, is easy and hassle-free for you. Simply inform us of your payment preference – credit card, debit card, or automatic bank draft – on your registration form, and we’ll automatically charge your account on the 1st of every month. A NSF fee of $20 will be assessed for any declined electronic funds.
Make up Lessons
Lessons missed by the student due to illness, optional school activities, or other extenuating circumstances may be rescheduled only if the lesson is cancelled by 8:00 am the day of lesson, but no more than two student absences will be rescheduled during the school year. Lesson time cannot be extended for being late. All lessons missed due to teacher absence or snow days will be made up. Tuition is due regardless of missed lessons.
Materials and Supplies
Instrumental students need an instrument for daily practice. Bills for music or other supplies will be applied to your account as needed, and charged at the same time as the current month’s payment. A free assignment notebook is provided at the first lesson. Lost or damaged assignment notebooks may be replaced for $2.00 each.
Practice Time
Piano students need an acoustic or digital piano in the home for daily practice. All students should have a daily, non-interrupted time to practice. Practice requirements and goals will vary according to teacher assignments and student levels.
Parental Involvement
Parental support is crucial to the success of each student. To keep parents informed, we regularly communicate via email or flyers. Students are also given an assignment notebook to facilitate communication between studio and home.

Keyboard Tuning and Maintenance
Tuning and maintenance of your acoustic piano is important. For annual tunings, PCS recommends Mr. Sam Taylor at 288-2353.
Agreement to the policies stated above is prerequisite to enrollment in Piano Central Studios.
